First time students meet with a counselor in Student Affairs to prepare an academic plan. Students are assigned an academic advisor during their first semester at College of the Ouachitas. Students may confer with their academic advisor at any time when decisions concerning registration (such as withdrawing from class) are made. The purpose of advising is to provide students with information regarding program requirements and career options. Designated full-time faculty will serve as academic advisors for the student body. Students whose advising needs are not being met should bring the matter to the attention of their Division Chairperson. Counselors are also available in Student Affairs to visit with students at any time.
