  • On Thursday, January 16, around 10:00 a.m., Malvern Police Department informed the college that they were responding to a call regarding a threat of a firearm at College of the Ouachitas by an individual visiting the campus.  A search of the suspected individual and their vehicle determined that no weapons were present.  MPD removed the individual from the campus without further incident.

College of the Ouachitas takes situations of this nature seriously, as we place paramount importance on the safety of our students, faculty, staff and campus visitors. Situations of this nature allow college officials to evaluate and strengthen existing emergency protocols in order to assure the highest level of security for the College community.

  • "Meet the Artist" Library Open House!
    Thursday, January 23, 2014 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Robin Miller-Bookhout grew up in Malvern and graduated from MHS in 1971.  She is retired from teaching art in the Little Rock School District, and now spends more time on her painting.  She has a beautiful collection of oil pastels and watercolors on display in the library.  She also has some framed paints, note cards, and magnets for sale, with the proceeds going to the COTO Foundation for scholarships.

David Malcolm Rose grew up in upstate New York, but now lives in Hot Springs, Ar.  His sculptures of buildings along the old Route 66 have been on display in the Library since early November, but now is the chance to meet this talented individual and hear his stories.

  • The College's voice mail system is experiencing technical difficulties.  As of now, you may call 501-337-5000 during regular hours (8am-4:30pm) and a person will answer the phone and transfer you.  You may also dial any direct number, follow the link below for the employee directory.  The issue is that there is no voicemail, so if the person you are trying to reach is not at their desk at that moment, you will not be able to leave a message.  We appreciate your patience as the IT Department continues working closely with our network provider to resolve the situation.

  • The College's phone system is currently experiencing technical difficulties.  The IT Department is working closely with our network provider to resolve the situation, but we have been notified that the system will be down the remainder of today and over the weekend.    Network Services Group will be sending a tech out on Monday.  Incoming calls to 501-337-5000 will likely hear a fast busy signal.  Direct lines still work, so anyone calling direct lines from outside will still be able to call in.  Follow the link below for the employee directory.
